Aikijutsu/Aikido

Modern Aikido has for its main purpose the development of a healthy mind and body. It is not (normally) taught as a purely hand to hand combat method. Aikido is also purely defensive in nature and in practice, is not based on realistic street combat situations.

The techniques and philosophy of traditional Aikijutsu are another story. The primary purpose is to provide a method of hand to hand combat. Aikijutsu enables a person to apply severe measures against an opponent if necessary. Ample use is made applying atemi (blows directed against body weaknesses) and atemi always precedes the seizure and subduing of an assailant. Aikijutsu offers strength, effectiveness in combat, and it stresses discipline, realistic techniques and defensive attack.
A path for personal improvement and awareness remains open in Aikijutsu but, the primary purpose is an effective form of combat. "Jutsu" is stressed over "Do". "Do" deals with self perfection while "Jutsu" deals with self protection. It is not a question of which system is better, but rather , it is a question of which style will better fulfill your own personal needs.

GINKGO TREE
The ginkgo tree dotted the reptile-ridden landscape 250 million years ago, during most the Mesozoic era. It is a tree which has in its keeping, the secret of the immeasurable past. The ginkgo tree is the sole survivor of a plant group that lived in the temperate regions of both hemispheres over 250 million years ago. Glaciers of the ice age erased it from the earth along with dinosaurs, except in an isolated corner of China. The ginkgo is known for many virtues one being it possesses the human quality of loyalty. They are found where men have only planted them, never in a wild state. The ginkgo is not easily affected by pollution, insect pest, or diseases. This golden fossil tree, as it is sometimes called, is the sole survivor of a very ancient group.
We feel our style of Aikijutsu/Aikido is as very unique.

understand adaptability, to change with change, to improve my weakness, to capitalize on my strengths.

Passed down orally and through demonstrating from family to family, early accounts of contest date back to the 1700's, during the reign of King Pra Chao Sua (The Tiger King). Thai boxing gained great impetus as he was a keen fan and Thai boxing Champion in his own right, for he traveled to village fairs incognito to fight local champions and no one realized who he was.

Filipino Martial Arts  "Willow/Doce Pares Systems"

KALI is the oldest form of weaponry in the Philippines. It comes from the word kalis, which implies the use of the blade. The naturally graceful and harmonious movements used in this are are characteristics of the methods found in other Asian countries.

Kali is very systematic art of combat fighting based in the science of strategy and tactics. Kali was to be a divine and perfect art, its symbols, principals, pattern of angles, foot work are all geometric patterns taken from natural surroundings. The prehistoric guardians of this art being the Malayo-Polynesian peoples of the islands, as we refer to today as the Philippines, did not speculate but followed and accepted what was laid down by nature.

This mystic art is considered to be the most complete fighting system in the world, an art where religion and science compliment each other. The art was taught in three levels of learning: physical, mental, spiritual, once completing all three levels the practitioner is considered to be a master, great and true. Present day training however no longer emphasize the spiritual development.

The Doce Pares meaning simply in translation as twelve pairs. This idea was founded by twelve grandmaster of different styles and the late Grandmaster Eulogio Canete was a president of the club for over fifty years before his death since the club's inception in 1932. The Canete brothers were much involved in developing the Doce Pares Club and it became synonomous with their name Canete/Doce Pares.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

The origins of Modern Brazilian Jiu Jitsu stem from Japan around the beginning of the 20th century. Jiu jitsu had existed for centuries in Japan, but for it's earliest origins are not entirely clear, Other countries , such as India, are often regarded as the original source of jiu jitsu but there is  a lack of sufficient  evidence  to verify any claim. Ancient Japanese texts make reference to various grappling styles, scrolls depicting ancient jiu jitsu technique that is quite recognizable in moderen jiu jitsu.

Jiu jitsu  translates as "gental art" or "soft art ". The term would appear to be something of a misnomer, for jiu jitsu is a fighting art with direct links to the battlefields of feudal Japan .  "Gentle art " is meant to convey the guiding idea that lies beneath all jiu jitsu , both classical Japanese and modern Brazilian --the idea of using ones strength in the most efficient way. Over time many Ryu or "schools" have emerged in Japan even all over the world each with its own particular emphasis. Some concentrated on throws ( JUDO), others on ground grappling (Brazilian Jiu jitsu), Others on striking ( Kenpo).

Due to many Senior members of the Gracie family jui jitsu is an astounding success in many competitions in the United States, but through well documented accounts you'll find their beginnings with a Japanese jiu jitsu expert, Maeda, who was part of a diplomatic mission to establish a Japanese colony in Brazil. he befriended Gastao Gracie and offered to teach his sons, with each generation  it grew into the "family trade".
